NASHVILLE -- Jamie Skeen, of Century 21 Legacy, a Greeneville real estate firm, has been chosen by the Tennessee Association of Realtors for its 2008 Class of Leadership.

TAR is the professional trade association for more than 28,000 Realtors in the state.

Only 10 Realtors from across Tennessee are selected each year to participate in the program.

A press release said, "The program equips them with the knowledge and network to achieve success as leaders in their profession.

"Each year's class participates in a series of intensive workshops and retreats -- learning more about the issues and challenges of (the) real estate industry, about the special demands of leadership, and about themselves."

Armed with his real estate license and a business degree from East Tennessee State University, Skeen three years later purchased the former Century 21 Billy Williams & Associates.

In the five years since then, Skeen has served on several local or area boards, including The Northeast Tennessee Association of Realtors, and has held many leadership positions on these boards.

He has also received numerous awards for his personal accomplishments as well as the accomplishments of his business, Century 21 Legacy.

He was recently named as one of the 40 under 40 up-and-coming business leaders in the Tri-Cities area by the Business Journal.

The Tennessee Association of Realtors is one of the largest trade associations in Tennessee.

Services provided by TAR to its members include news, legal and information bulletins, forms and advanced business tools, in-depth education programs, and legislative advocacy and oversight.
