Norma Jean Ricker Died: June 27, 2009 Norma Jean Ricker, 59, of Greeneville died Saturday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital following what her family said was "a courageous battle with cancer." She was of the Baptist tradition of faith. Survivors include: her husband: Ralph Ricker; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Sheila and Deon Carter of Greeneville, Lisa and Nathan Babb of Chuckey, and Kathy Hogan of Greeneville; four grandchildren: Josh Carter, Mathew Carter, Cierra Dunbar, and Kirsten Babb; one sister and brother-in-law: Mamie and Jessie Hunt of Greeneville; her sisters-in-law and other brothers-in-law: Judy Ricker, Teresa Ricker, John and Leona Ricker, Hiawassie Brown, Maxine Keys, and Mary and Bentley Tweed; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Rebecca Ricker; a son: Ralph Ray Ricker Jr.; her parents: Percy Gregg and Mary Elizabeth Gregg; and two brothers: James Gregg and Charles Gregg. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 today at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Services. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Jeffers Funeral Chapel. Phillip Lynn Helbert and the Rev. Wayland Fillers will officiate. Interment will be in River Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pete Lollar, Willis Fillers, Elbert Jones, Tracy Haney, Whitey Smith and Eddie Lee Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be John Ricker, the nursing staff of Takoma Regional Hospital, Dr. Dharmen Patel and Dr. Steven Prince.
