Frances D. Franklin

Died: June 27, 2008

Frances Delora Franklin, 76, of the Pleasant Vale community, died Friday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

Her family stated, "She went to meet her heavenly father.

"She was a beloved wife and 'Mom' and was an inspiration to all the people that she was blessed to meet. She always had encouraging words and a sweet gentle smile."

Mrs. Franklin was a member of Albright United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years: Bloomie Feltner Franklin; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandy and Royce Peterson of Chuckey and Becky and Ricky Fancher of Tusculum; two sons and daughters-in-law: Ricky and Cathy Franklin of the Rheatown community and Tim and Tina Franklin of Midway; 10 grandchildren: Paula Taylor, Cody Fancher, Amber Franklin, Brandon Franklin, Meghan Thacker, Faithe Thacker, Hope Thacker, Sarah Thacker, Colyer Thacker, and Joshua Franklin; two great-grandchildren: Cheyenne Taylor and Hannah Taylor; and a special friend: Gracie Marie Grubbs.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Franklin; and her parents, Jesse and Minnie Rice.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Duncan and the Rev. Doyle Pruett will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in GraceLand Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Bowers, George Bowers, Bill Davenport, Howard Collins, Leonard Dotson, Tommy Sams, and Tommy Cutshaw.

The members of her church family will be honorary pallbearers.
