Brady Singleton Died: April 29, 2008 Brady William Singleton, three-year-old son of Ron and Shirley Singleton, of Ducktown, died Tuesday, April 29, due to injuries received in an ATV accident in Liberty, N.C., (near Chattanooga), while riding with his grandfather. He was a grandson of the late Rev. and Mrs. T.W. Singleton, who served as pastor of churches in Greeneville and Greene County for a couple of decades. Brady was born July 27, 2004, in Murphy, N.C. His family provided the following statement: "Brady enjoyed driving his toy John Deere tractor almost every day. He had a great love for real tractors too, and his grandfather would take him for long rides on tractors he named 'Big Red' and 'Big Blue.' If you asked him whose tractors they were, he would say, 'my tractors'." "Brady enjoyed watching sports, especially girls basketball at Copper Basin High School, where his father coached. He had many DVD movies and had special favorites such as the Lion King series, Tarzan series, and anything with animals. He loved going to the zoos in Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga and the Murphy Zoo. Carousel rides were a big favorite for Brady, also." "He enjoyed eating out in local restaurants. He would want to go in the Piggly Wiggly every time we drove past. He knew everyone by name at the Family Dollar Store, and was impressed by the toys they had amassed for sale. He loved going into the Copper Basin Federal Credit Union and seeing Brett and the staff. One of Brady's great joys in life was to go to 'Mimi' and 'Papaw's' house where he would enjoy the farm, eat the great food that Mimi cooked and play with his 'Papaw.' " "Brady loved going to First United Methodist Church of Copperhill, where he would name the people he would get to see there on Sunday mornings. A beautiful child has completed his assignment on earth and will wait for his family to again join him one day in heaven." Survivors include his parents; his grandparents: Grady and Mary Anderson of Turtletown; a special uncle and aunt: David and Sheila Singleton of Ooltewah; his special cousins: Angela and Joel Walton of Memphis, David and Phyllis Blankenship and Jim and Sharon Blankenship, all of Oak Ridge, and Judy and Don Bodnar of Atlanta, Ga., Alice Cloar, Nick Cloar, and Erin Cloar of Greeneville, and many others. The funeral service was held at 2 o'clock Saturday at First UM Church of Copperhill. The Rev. Robert Wallace and the Rev. Jennings Neld officiated. Funeral arrangements were completed by the Finch-Cochran Funeral home, McCaysville, GA. Interment followed in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Suit, N.C. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First UM Church of Copperhill Scholarship Fund for area students.
