Died: March 15, 2010
Sharon Long, 57, of Forest Street, Greeneville, died Monday at her home.
Her family stated: "She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family."
Mrs. Long was an apartment complex manager.
She was a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church and the Bulls Gap Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Long was the widow of Roger Kyle Long, who died June 18, 2005.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Vickie and Greg Lawing and Christinia and Jeffery Greenlee; a son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Marlene Long; six grandchildren: Matthew Lawing, Austin Greenlee, Jarret Long, Isaac Long, Jessy Garrett, and Hazel Garrett; one sister and brother-in-law: Patsy and Ronnie Clonce of Bean Station; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She had a very special pet, her dog, "Coco."
She was preceded in death by her parent, Archie and Audrey Wallace and Ralph Cooper of Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David Wheeler and the Rev. Richard Long will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in Philippi Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10 o'clock at the funeral home to travel in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Jinks, Bobby Jinks, Rodney Metcalf, Junior Holt, Billy Hollifield, and Doug Parks.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Paul Gregg, Paul Long, Teddy Tweed, a special caregiver: Mitzi Kemp of Smoky Mountain Hospice; Dr. Richard Aasheim and Phyllis Fox; Dr. A.K. Sen and nursing staff; Dr. Robert Bridges; Christy Adams; and the tenants of Courtyard Apartments.
