James "JJ" Carson Ramsey Jr.
Died: March 11, 2010
James "JJ" Carson Ramsey Jr., 23, of Mosheim, died unexpectedly on Thursday.
Mr. Ramsey was born Nov. 17, 1986.
He operated a wrecker for various companies on a part-time basis, and was a member of Willoughby Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
His family provided the following statement:
"He liked shooting pool, hunting, fishing and hanging out with all his redneck friends.
"He was a sweet and loving son who had a big heart.
"JJ's favorite expression was ' "git' er done." '
"Our big teddy bear will be sadly missed.
"He had several close friends who were like family, Britney Travis and Robert Travis. JJ always made people laugh and put smiles on their faces."
Survivors include: his father: James "Jim" Ramsey of Bulls Gap; his mother: Vickie D. Harmon of Mosheim; a brother and sister-in-law: Rick and Tina Ramsey of Bulls Gap; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Kristie Harmon and Jeff Isaacs of Greeneville, and Missy and Bill Warner and Crystal and Jeremiah Daniels, all of Bulls Gap; his grandfather: Bud Hughes, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Mosheim; a special niece and nephews: Brianna Logan Shiflett, Chelsey Warner, Dustin Collier, Alexis Ramsey, Taylor Ramsey, Gracie Seaton, and Ashley Bonds; several aunts and uncles including a special aunt: Teresa Davis of Mosheim; several cousins, including a special cousin: Tonya Davis Self of Mosheim; and a special friend: Charles "Chick" Dean of Mosheim.
Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by a sister: Sherrie Harmon Williams; and grandparents: Mable C. Hughes of Mosheim and Roscoe Carter of Mosheim, and the late J.C. and Ruth Ramsey of Bulls Gap.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Jeffers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Willoughby Cemetery.
The Rev. Earl Bowlin and the Rev. Teddy Bowlin will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jason Cross, Chris Whillett, Robert Travis, Jeffery Travis, Charles McQuellen, Chris Johnson, Shannon Black, and Joe Gibson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service to help defray funeral expense.
