Rev. Charles Bazzle Manis

ROGERSVILLE -- The Rev. Charles Bazzle Manis, 60, of Rogersville, died Tuesday at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital.
"He went to be with the Lord," his family stated.
"Bazzle was saved at an early age at Mountain View Baptist Church. He announced his calling to preach in 1969, and continued to preach God's grace and mercy until his death.
"He was a faithful member of Long Hollow Primitive Baptist Church and currently was the pastor of Ayers Primitive Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap, Va.
"He has spent his life telling others about Jesus, now he is resting safe in His arms."
Survivors include his "loving wife of 42 years": Patsy Manis; two daughters: Diana Gordon and Angel Smith, both of Rogersville; one son and daughter-in-law: Claude and Judy Manis of Rogersville; six grandchildren: Amber Arrington, Austin Lane, Dalton Manis, Tori Manis, Ashley Smith, and Preston Smith; two stepgrandsons: Jerry Hurd Jr. and Christopher Rhoton, and one great-granddaughter: Jade Arrington, all of Rogersville; one brother and sister-in-law: William "Bill" and Barbara Manis of Chuckey; six sisters and a brother-in-law: Hattie Collins of Rogersville, Mary Lamons of Morristown, Vivian Helton of Eidson, Mildred and Paul Johnson, Maude Stewart, and Bonnie Reed, all of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Evan and Caroline Manis and was preceded in death by four brothers: Bert Manis, J.C. Manis, Donald Manis, and George Manis; and two sisters: Hazel Cody and Ruby Burton.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today at Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Daniel Hurd, the Rev. Chuck Lowe, the Rev. Gordon Justice, and the Rev. Harold Head will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Manis Family Cemetery in Eidson.
