Barbara Jean Parsons

ELIZABETHTON -- Barbara Jean Betit Amell Parsons, 77, of Van Hill Estates, Greeneville, died Wednesday, March 3, at her home.
"She went home to be with the Lord," her family stated.
A native of Bennington, Vt., Mrs. Parsons was a daughter of the late Moes and Marjorie Curran Betit.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Amell; her second husband, Havern Parsons; and a brother Francis Betit.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Ruth and Leland Burdick of Vermont and Constance Mooney of Greeneville; two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Patricia Amell of Greeneville, and Frances and Angela Amell of Piney Flats; 17 grandchildren, including Barbara Nacole Maynor, who made her home with Mrs. Parsons for several years; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law: Donald and Janet Betit of Pownal, Vt.; and eight nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held this summer in Bennington Parklawn Cemetery in Bennington.
Cremation Society of Northeast Tennessee is in charge of arrangements.
