Dallas 'Jake' Burger

Dallas "Jake" Burger, 85, of Tusculum, died Saturday afternoon at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.
He retired from Pepsi Bottling Company, as a division sales manager.
He was a Christian.
He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Andrew Johnson Post No. 1990, and a former member of the funeral honor guard.
Mr. Burger was a former member of the Lions Club and Moose Lodge in Muncie, Ind.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Vickie Lee and Chris Lyon of Greeneville; one son: William Jerome Burger of Greeneville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister: Alma Pierce of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece: Judy Weems of Greeneville, and a special nephew: Bobby McAmis of Orlando, Fla.; and his special nurses and caregivers: Jeanine, Joyce, and Libby.
He was a son of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Taylor Burger, and was preceded in death by a daughter: Brenda Joyce Burger; one granddaughter; two brothers: Arnold Burger and Luke Burger; three sisters: Lura McAmis, Doris Ramsey, and Barbara Lee Ferguson; and his former wife and mother of his children: Margaret Burger.
A memorial services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in the chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. The Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate.
Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery with military honors performed by the Greene County Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Dreger, Hans Dreger, and Bobby McAmis.
There will be no formal visitation.
