Died: March 5, 2010

Nancy K. "Baby" Johnson Burgner, 79, of Greene County, died unexpectedly Friday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was the widow of Grover "Bill" Burgner, who died in 1984.

Mrs. Burgner was a former employee of Magnavox, Philips Consumer Electronics Co, and Five Rivers Electronic Innovations, LLC, having almost 55 total years of service.

Survivors include two sons: Billy Clay Burgner of Greeneville and Tony Burgner of Greene County; one daughter: Lynnis Stanton of Greeneville; a granddaughter: Deana (Burgner) Campbell of Asheville, N.C.; five great-granddaughters: Nakesha Lynn Lee, Christy Opal Smith, and Tiffany Alexander Lane, all of Morristown, and Abigail Dawn Campbell and Paige Elizabeth Campbell, both of Asheville; two great-grandsons: Brandon Ray Lee and Justin Crum, both of Morristown; three great-great-grandsons: Isaiah Blake Lee, Devin Lemka, and Trenton Smith, all of Morristown; two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Anna Ruth and Raymond Hall and Rena and Paul Gillian; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces: Marie (Johnson) Shelton and Linda (Johnson) Chappell, and special nephews: Stuart Ricker, Roy James "Rooster" Johnson, Dale Johnson, Jackie Johnson, Walter Johnson, and Wayne Johnson; a very special former daughter-in-law: Sharron Burgner of Washington County; and special friends: Charlie and Christine Duncan.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. M.J. Johnson; a granddaughter: Tammy Lynn (Lee) Stanton; five brothers: Newman Ray "Boge" Johnson, Albert Guy Johnson, Clay Elbert Johnson, Lonnie Scott Johnson, and Herbert Hoover Johnson; two sisters: Margie Lee Johnson and Dila Eudema Harrison; and a half-brother: Hobert Vernon Ricker.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Lynn Mercer will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Johnson, Roy James Johnson, Dale Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Walter Johnson, Shane Harrison, Mike Johnson, and Russell Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Kenneth Susong and staff, Carl Shelton, Stefon Shelton, Todd Shelton, Wendell Johnson, Tim Johnson, Tommy Hopson, Jack Lister, Dick Fawbush, Wallace "Pete" Fannon, Clois Ramsey, Henry Fannon, and Marty Smith.
