Died: Feb. 7, 2010

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Peggy Hogue Bullard, 76, of Winston-Salem, and a former nine-year resident of Greeneville, Tenn., died Sunday.

Mrs. Bullard had resided at Salemtowne Moravian Retirement Community for the past year and a half.

She was born July 18, 1933, in Mecklenburg County, to Nathaniel Walker and Alma Gladys Hogue.

Mrs. Bullard was a lifelong member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.

She retired as a nurse from Winston-Salem Health Care.

Her family noted, "She loved sharing stories and bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved watching and feeding the birds. She was very comforted in her faith and loved adding friends and family to her 'special prayer list'."

She was the widow of Jack Bullard Sr., her husband of 53 years who died Feb. 21, 2005.

Survivors include a son: Jackie Bullard Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Winston-Salem; a daughter and very special son-in-law: Kim and Homer Craig of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren and their spouses: Kelley and Eric Richardson of Kernersville, Brad Bullard of Winston-Salem, Jordan and Michael Harrold of Lewisville, and Lora Craig of Winston-Salem; two very special great-grandchildren: Shay Richardson and Carson Richardson; a sister and brother-in-law: Ruby and Jerry West; a brother and sister-in-law: N.W. "Butch" and Brenda Hogue; two very special sisters-in-law: Libby Fulk and Jane Bullard; and several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include a son: Jackie Bullard Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Winston-Salem; a daughter and very special son-in-law: Kim and Homer Craig of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren and their spouses: Kelley and Eric Richardson of Kernersville, Brad Bullard of Winston-Salem, Jordan and Michael Harrold of Lewisville, and Lora Craig of Winston-Salem; two very special great-grandchildren: Shay Richardson and Carson Richardson; a sister and brother-in-law: Ruby and Jerry West; a brother and sister-in-law: N.W. "Butch" and Brenda Hogue; two very special sisters-in-law: Libby Fulk and Jane Bullard; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jackie Grey Bullard III.

A graveside service was held at 11 o'clock this morning in Pine Grove UM Church Cemetery in Winston-Salem. Dr. Steve Martin officiated.

Honorary pallbearers, as chosen by Mrs. Bullard, were Stokes Alridge, Doug Bullard, Mike Fulk, Michael Harrold, Brent Hogue, Ken Mills, Eric Richardson, R.L. Spach, and Jeff West.
