Died: Feb. 5, 2010

Minnis L. Paxton, 71, of Greeneville died Friday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Paxton was a machinist.

Survivors include his wife: Darla Paxton of Greeneville; one daughter: Kimberly Veley of Erwin; one son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Rhonda Paxton: six grandchildren and their spouses: Sammy Harrison, Billy and Cynthia Harrison; Ashley Paxton, Lauren Paxton, Jonathan Paxton and Braydon Paxton; three great-grandchildren: Joshua Harrison, Emily Harrison and Aidan Harrison; his mother-in-law: Norma Cureton of Greeneville; one sister-in-law and her husband: Ann and Jim Ziepolt of Maryland; one nephew: Michael Alexander; and several cousins.

He was a son of the late John A. and Hattie Paxton.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock at the church.

The Rev. David Brannock will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to be at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to Greenlawn Memory Gardens, where a committal service will be held at noon.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Harrison, Billy Harrison, Wade Harrison, Fred Smith, Michael Alexander and Bruce McFarland.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Crusaders Class at Trinity UM Church.
