Died: Feb. 4, 2010

Donald C. Broyles, 86, of Greeneville, died Thursday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Broyles had worked at Food City on the Snapps Ferry Road for the last 17 years.

He was a 50-year member of Greeneville Lodge No. 3, F&AM, and the Greene County Shrine Club.

His family provided the following statement: "He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

"The highlights of his later years were the special moments spent with family, especially his grandson, great-grandson, and a special buddy Reese Holt."

He was the widower of Inelle Broyles.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Lynn and Carolyn Broyles of Greeneville; one grandson and his spouse: John-Paul and Hope Broyles of Greeneville; one great-grandson: Alexander "Alex" Broyles; two special nieces: Becky Wood and Judy Cutshaw; one brother-in-law: Clyde Myers of Knoxville; one sister-in-law: Marcella Woody of Birchwood , and Ernestine Myers of Greeneville

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie Broyles, and one brother, Roy Broyles.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David Brannock will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will Paul Moore Jr., Dave Ford, Reese Holt and Duane Uhls.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Burn Clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio, or Trinity United Methodist Church .
