Wilma J. Laws

MARION, Ind. -- Wilma J. Laws, 69, of Marion, died Sunday at her home.
Mrs. Laws was born Jan. 1, 1941, in Newport, Tenn., and was a daughter of the late Chess W. and Nola Mae Russell Strange.
She had lived in the Marion area for more than 40 years.
She married James E. Laws on Sept. 7, 1961.
Mrs. Laws was a homemaker. She enjoyed crochet work and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four children and their spouses: Charmie and Carl Irick of Madisonville, Tenn., Allen and Cheryl Laws of Warren, Ind., Theresa L. and Rick Randolph of Marion, Ind., and Phyllis D. and Leo Sims of Fairmount, Ind.; five grandchildren: Bryan Swisher, Kristen Swisher, Joshua Laws, Justin Laws, and Jessica Laws; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Orville and Irene Strange of Talbott, Tenn., and Michael and Maggie Strange of Newport; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Judy and Gary Taylor and Charlotte Collier, all of' Newport, and Rita and Eric Lackey of Sevierville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Ronald E. Strange; and two sisters: Virginia Cook and Donna Lynn Strange.
The funeral service was held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel. Pastor O. Allen Laws and the Rev. Ron Forsythe officiated.
Interment was in Estates of Serenity Cemetery in Marion.
