LaFOLLETTE -- Luther "Tommy" Daniels, 88, of LaFollette, died Friday at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
He is survived in Greene County by a son and daughter-in-law: L.T. and Linda Daniels, two granddaughters: Kristi Daniels and Becky Daniels, and a great-grandson: Bryson Duke, all of Greeneville; and a daughter-in-law: Nancy Daniels of Chuckey.
Mr. Daniels was born May 10, 1921, in Blue Ridge, Ga., and was a son of the late John H. and Jane Lackey Daniels.
He was the owner and operator of Loop Road Body Shop, Daniels Trailer Court, and was a former Campbell County School bus operator.
He was of the Pentecostal tradition of faith.
In addition to those listed above, survivors include his wife of 66 years: Daisy Daniels; his children: Mrs. Eric (Doris) Walden of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jane Ann and David Lavender of Kingston; two grandchildren: Justin Walden of Caryville and Daniel Lavender of Kingston; a great-grandson: Benjamin Walden of Caryville; a brother: John J. Daniels of Morristown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: James Earl Sprouse and Ben Hooper Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Walters Funeral Home in LaFollette.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The eulogy will be given by Jimmy Heatherly, and the Rev. Ned Asbury will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in Powell Valley Cemetery & Memorial Gardens.
