Died: Nov. 15, 2009

Elmer "Mr. Good" Gammon, 91, of Bailey Lane, Greeneville, died Sunday morning at his home.

Mr. Gammon was a farmer.

He attended Brittontown Church for a number of years and in later years attended Union Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Mable Shaffer Gammon; a son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Joyce Gammon of Jefferson City; two daughters and one son-in-law: Judy and Steve Alsup and Janice Johnson, all of Greeneville; his grandchildren and their spouses: April Alsup, Susan and Keith Hipsher, and Lynne and Bert Griffin, all of Greeneville, and Amy Johnson of Morristown; his great-grandchildren: McKenzie Wagner, Brooklyn Hipsher, Chelsea Gunter, Dustin Newton, Amanda Newton, and Kristy Newton; his great-great-granddaughter: Brooklyn Johnson; a sister: Irene Morrison of Greeneville; a brother: Perry "Cotton" Gammon of Greeneville; two sisters-in-law: Ruby Gammon of Greeneville and Dorothy Olson of Dandridge; and three brothers-in-law: Hal Shaffer of White Pine, William Olson of Dandridge, and Gomer Shaffer of Atlanta, Ga.

He was a son of the late William Richard and Cordie Jane Holland Gammon and was preceded in death by one sister: Julia Smith; and 11 brothers: Charles Gammon, Frank Gammon, Jessie Gammon, George Gammon, Allen Gammon, Omer Gammon, Doss Gammon, Oscar Gammon, Edgar Gammon (his twin), Henry Gammon, and Lowell Gammon.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Gary Gass and the Rev. Troy Gammon will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 10:30 Wednesday morning in Hardin's Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 to travel in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Locust Springs Christian Retreat, 200 Bailey Lane, Greeneville, TN 37745.
