Creasie L. Lewis

Died: Nov. 16, 2009

JONESBOROUGH -- Creasie L. Lewis, 96, of Limestone, died Monday at Durham-Hensley Care and Rehabilitation in Chuckey.

A native of Unicoi County, Mrs. Lewis was a daughter of the late Joe and Daisy Tilson Tipton.

She attended New Hope Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Lewis was the widow of Richard Lewis.

Survivors include two daughters: Effie Percell Kyker of Telford and Birdie Briggs of Limestone; a special daughter-in-law: Willadean Lewis Ryon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

She was also preceded in death by two sons: James "Bud" Lewis and Buster Lewis; one grandchild; one great-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild; and three brothers: Henry Tipton, Frank Tipton, and Walter Tipton.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough.

The funeral service will follow at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Wes Ford will officiate.

A committal service will be held at noon Thursday in Lewis Cemetery in Flag Pond.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staffs of Durham-Hensley and Caris Hospice.
