Christine Whitehead Dye, 89, of Cynthiana, Ky., formerly of
Greeneville, died Thursday at Harrison Memorial Hospital in
Cynthiana.
Mrs. Dye was a homemaker and the widow of Richard D.
Dye.
She was a member of Central Christian Church in
Greeneville.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Richard and
Susan Dye of Clinton; one daughter and son-in-law: Gaile and Mark Ferguson of Cynthiana; her
grandchildren and their spouses: Chris and Dawn Ferguson of London, Ohio, and Jenny and Sam Cox of
Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; her great-grandchildren: Alicia Ferguson, Kyle Ferguson, Morgan Cox, and
Mason Cox; a brother and sister-in-law: Edward and Ruby Whitehead of Johnson City; a sister-in-law:
Mary Alice Whitehead of Greeneville; two half-brothers and their wives: Paul and Jean Whitehead of
Clemmons, N.C., and Bud and Betty Whitehead of Johnson City; two half-sisters: Sara Sellers and her
husband, Mike, of Johnson City, and Jean Stewart of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a daughter of the late Carson Hamilton Whitehead and Abbie
Campbell Whitehead, and was preceded in death by three sisters: Mae Reed, Dorothy Campbell, and
Frances Hafner; and six brothers: J.D. Whitehead, Bill Whitehead, Clyde Whitehead, Frank Whitehead,
Herbert Whitehead, and Bobby Whitehead.
The family will receive friends
from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral
service will follow visitation at 1 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dixie Miller will
officiate.
Interment will be in Andrew Johnson National
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ferguson, Mark Ferguson, Mike
Sellers, Bud Whitehead, Hovie Gregg, Chris Wilson, and Roy Lee Reynolds
Jr.
