Somphou
Phommachanh, 51, of the Newport Highway, Greeneville, died Saturday in Johnson City Medical Center
due to injuries received in an automobile/pedestrian accident on the East Andrew Johnson
Highway.
Mr. Phommachanh, along with his family, settled in Greeneville,
in December of 1980 after a year of staying in the Lao Refugee Camp in
Thailand.
He was a former employee of MECO
Corp.
Survivors
include one son: Damien Goforth of Greeneville; one daughter: Heidi
Goforth of Greeneville; a grandson: Quintin Goforth of Greeneville; his
mother: Khanthay Phommachanh; five brothers: Somphong Phommachanh,
Somphone Phommachanh, Somphanh Phommachanh, Somchanh Phommachanh, and
Anongdeth Phommachanh; a sister: Souninnamvieng Phommachanh; three
stepbrothers: Khamkeo Bone, Nikorn Bone, and Phoothorn Bone; a special
aunt: Koungmoune Chanseri; and a special uncle: Tahn Chanseri.
He was a son of the late Khamhou
Phommachanh.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Friday at
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Visitation, ritual, and a service will be
held from noon-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
