Lena Clark Moore, 96, of Greeneville, died Saturday morning at her home.
She was born Sept. 24, 1913, in Spring Creek, N.C., but her family lived in Greeneville. She was a daughter of the late William Asbury and Martha Meadows.
Mrs. Moore was a member of Sinking Springs Baptist Church in North Carolina, where she attended as long as her health permitted.
"Her family stated, "She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a devout Christian.
Mrs. Moore was the widow of Vernon Moore.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Maurice Moore and David and Josephine Moore, all of Greeneville; one daughter and son-in-law: Dennis and Barbara Fezell of Greene County; four grandchildren: Randy Moore, Joey Massey, De'Anna Sullivan, and Holly Morelock; two great-grandchildren: David Moore and Shasta Scott; seven great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; and special caregivers: Judy Fox, Lois Shelton, and Jeannie Moore.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. Willis Bowers will officiate.
Entombment will follow in the mausoleum chapel at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Randy Moore, David S. Moore, Joey Massey, Dwight Meadows, Stevie Rogers, and Nathan West Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Joe Austin and his staff.
