Christine A.
Burgner, 72, of Housley Avenue, Greeneville, died Thursday at her
home.
Mrs. Burgner retired from Magnavox.
She
was a member of Jones Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Burgner was
the widow of James Wallace Burgner.
Survivors include a son: Donald Ray
Burgner of Greeneville; her grandson: James Kenneth "J.K." Burgner of Greeneville; three sisters and
a brother-in-law: Jean Burgner of Chuckey, Laura Ann Henley of Jonesborough, and Vickie and Fred
Payne of Morristown; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Tommy and Billia Johnson, Erskine and Donna
Johnson, and Roscoe and Lois Johnson, all of Greeneville, and Paul and Brenda Johnson of Afton; a
special aunt and uncle: Betty and Tuck Tucker of Newport; a special uncle and aunt: Ralph and Brenda
Johnson of Newport; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew: Dana Burgner of
Cleveland (Tenn.), several cousins; and a brother-in-law: David Jennings of
Chuckey.
She was a daughter of the late Roby Buffalo and Gladys Josephine
Johnson and was preceded in death by three sisters: Lennis Shipley, Tursey Jennings, and Ruth Boles;
and a brother: Frank Johnson.
The family received friends from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service
was held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with interment in Harris Memorial
Cemetery. The Rev. John Buchanan and Luke Buchanan
officiated.
Pallbearers were her nephews and her
friends.
