Irene Landers Gray, 84, formerly of Green Ridge Loop, Afton, in the Union Chapel community, died Thursday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
"She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother," her family noted.
Mrs. Gray was the widow of Huvel Gray.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Sue and Rex Roberts of Locust, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law: Floyd and Joyce Gray of Greeneville and Cloyd and Margaret Gray of Afton; five grandsons and their wives: Chanse and Mary Ann Roberts of Conyers, Ga., Brian Roberts of Covington, Ga., Jason and Michelle Gray of Lake City, Fla., and Jeremy and Crissy Gray and Chris and Buffy Gray, all of Greeneville; a granddaughter and her husband: Kirsten and Gary Brown; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Mary and Jack Jackson of Oregon, Amilee Hackett of California, and Jean and Stevie Jennings and Nellie and Roger Johnson, all of Greene County; six brothers and sisters-in-law: Lawrence and Barbara Landers, Claude and Joann Landers, Calvin and Betty Landers, and Ralph and Gwen Landers, all of Greene County, Douglas and Patsy Landers of Telford, and Harold and Bertha Landers; a special sister-in-law: Revonda Landers of Greene County; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a daughter of the late Connie and Elsie Shelton Landers and was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister: Ethel Curtis; and a brother: Tommie Landers.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jason McCoy will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chanse Roberts, Jason Gray, Jeremy Gray, Chris Gray, Leon
Landers, and Marty Ayers.
