Anthony Waits
Died: Nov. 1, 2009
BRISTOL -- Anthony Waits, 21, died Sunday.
He was born Feb. 28, 1988, in Greeneville but had spent the past 14 years in Bristol.
Mr. Waits was a 2006 graduate of Sullivan East High School and had worked for American Vending for several years.
He was a private first class in the U.S. Army Reserve.
His family noted "Anthony loved playing baseball and tennis among many other sports. He also enjoyed caving, airsoft, and video games.
"Anthony was a caring person who always strived to help those around him. He had touched many lives and will be greatly missed."
Survivors include his mother: Diana Harrin Perkins and her husband, Mike, of Bristol; three brothers: Randy Woods of White Pine, Jeff Harrin of Bristol, and Josh Perkins of Dayton, Ohio; and two sisters: Christy Belt and Kim Cutshaw, both of Greeneville.
He was a grandson of the late Austin and Mary Blazer.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p. m. Friday and from noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home, 2223 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol.
The funeral service will follow visitation Saturday at 1 o'clock the funeral home chapel. Dr. Bill Goforth will officiate.
Interment will follow in Eastern Heights Cemetery.
