ROGERSVILLE - Virginia Kathleene Collins, 65, of Rogersville, died Friday morning at Wellmont Hawkins County Hospital following what her family said was a courageous battle with cancer.
The family also said she "went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones."
She was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church.
Ms. Collins was "a very loving mother, grandmother and sister," the family stated.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Goldie and Bertha Collins; three sons: "Little" Terry Lynn Collins, Logan Wayne Collins and Roger Lee Collins; one daughter: Sharon Kathie Collins Brooks; one brother: Clea Collins; and one sister: Leona Collins.
Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law: Raymond and Melissa Collins of Rogersville; two granddaughters; two sisters: Janice "Sissy" Arrington of Greeneville and Carol Ann Collins of Whitesburg; four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Charlie Collins of the home, James and Roberta Collins of Pennington Gap, Va., Frank "Peanut" Collins of Rogersville, and Kyle and Marty Collins of Mosheim; several nieces and nephews; a special "adopted aunt": Nell Lawson; and special friends: the family of Frank Collins, Robert Burns, Garnie and Wanda Thacker and family, and Paul Gibson.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Colboch-Price Funeral Home.
The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel.
The Rev. Bill Lafollette will officiate.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Shanks, Gregory Arrington, David Arrington, Joseph "Buck" Collins, Garnie Thacker, Robbie Collins and Chris Collins.
