Maxie J. Mowell

Died: Oct. 27, 2009

Maxie J. Mowell, 86, of Millers Chapel Road, Greeneville, died Tuesday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

She was the last living child of nine born to the late John and Montie Mullins.

Mrs. Mowell was the widow of Victor Mowell, her husband of 67 years who died March 9, 2008.

She was of the Baptist tradition of faith.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Rosette and Fred McLain of Greeneville; a very special grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Keith and Alicia McLain of Surgoinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. David Fox and the Rev. Bran Norris will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 10:30 Friday morning in Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Haskell Barrett, Willie Barrett, Allen Benton, Russell Frye, Phil Light, and David Gray.
