LaRue Murray Brown

LaRue Murray Brown, a longtime resident of Plantation, Fla., died Saturday morning at her home.
A native of Greeneville, she was a daughter of the late Markley and Alice Murray.
Ms. Brown was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and had lived and worked in New York and Atlanta prior to her marriage.
She moved with her family to Plantation in 1976, where she was very active in Plantation United Methodist Church and in the Plantation Athletic League program.
Ms. Brown retired from the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. Since her retirement she has spent her summers working at Yellowstone National Park.
Survivors include her children: Christine Brown of Weaverville, N.C., and Chalmers Brown of Asheville, N.C.; and her sister and brother-in law: Julia and Jim Pensinger of Greeneville.
A memorial service will be held in Plantation with interment later in Oak Grove Cemetery.
