Dorothy Mae Renner

Dorothy Mae Hawk Renner, 97, a lifelong resident of Greene County, died Saturday.
"She was very devoted to her family and her church family at Beulah Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member.
Mrs. Renner was the widow of Omer C. Renner Sr., her husband of 70 years who died Jan. 15, 2000.
Survivors include her sons and their wives: Dr. Omer C. and Nancy Renner of Morristown and Jack D. and Margaret Renner of Mohawk; a daughter: Josephine Groenwald of Morristown; two daughters-in-law: Emma Lou Renner of Mohawk and Gwen Renner of Morristown; her grandchildren, including a special granddaughter: Kimberly Renner Ramsdell; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Charlsie Hawk and Doris Townsend; several nieces and nephews; a special friend: Jim Decker; and special caregivers: Dr. Rajeev Gupta and the staff of Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Hospice.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Wayne Edwin Renner and Larry Gene Renner; a granddaughter; a great-great-grandson; and a brother: Gragg Hawk.
Friends may call at their convenience at Mayes Family Services, Downtown Chapel, 444 W. Main St., Morristown.
A graveside service will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in Jarnigan Cemetery. John Rogers and Dr. Chuck Starks will officiate. Family will meet at 9:45 at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, Mission Fund, to the Douglas/Cherokee Helping Hands, or to First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
