Arland O. Honeycutt, of Rockford, Ill., died Sunday at his home.
He was born March 19, 1920, in Steward, Ill. He was a son of the late Minnis and Pearl Honeycutt, of Mosheim, who lived in Illinois and later moved back to Mosheim.
Mr. Honeycutt was educated at Kings (Ill.) Elementary School, Mosheim High School and Tusculum College.
He worked for Barber Coleman in Rockford, where he was a precision tool grinder and engineer.
Mr. Honeycutt served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a co-pilot on a B24 plane. He participated in several missions over Italy, Austria, and other countries in the European Theatre of the war.
After he returned home, he married Blanche Buesteton in 1947. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary in April.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a stepson and his wife: Raymond and Jodie Van Cura of Des Moines, Iowa; stepgrandchildren and their spouses: Neal Van Cura, Eric and Deanna Van Cura, Rebecca Van Cura, and Elizabeth Van Cura, all of Des Moines; a sister: Helen Honeycutt Hartman of Mosheim; a former brother-in-law: Merl Jones of Greeneville; his special nieces and nephews: Marian Hartman and Susan Hartman, both of Mosheim, Lisa (Jones) Statzer and her husband, Rick, of Abingdon Va., and Richard Jones and his wife, Sandra, of Clifton, Va.; a special great-niece: Rebecca Coyle and her husband, Bill, of Zurich, Switzerland; a special great-nephew: Brian Jones of Clifton; and a special great-great-nephew: Brady Coyle of Zurich.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Orva Honeycutt Jones.
