Irene S. Weaver

Died: July 14, 2008

JONESBOROUGH -- Irene S. Weaver, 80, of Opie Arnold Road, Limestone, died Monday after a brief illness.

Mrs. Weaver was born in Burnsville, N.C., and was a daughter of the late Turner and Mafray Woodby Silvers.

She worked for more than 30 years at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Weaver was of the Baptist tradition of faith.

"She enjoyed gardening and making quilts," her family noted.

Survivors include two sons: William N. "Bill" Weaver of Limestone and James A. "Jim" Weaver and his wife, Cristine, of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Frank Silvers and his wife, Connie, and Fred Silvers; a sister: Paulene Miller; and seven nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3 Friday afternoon in Maple Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Ferguson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Jonesborough.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
