Leon W. 'Pete' Tullock
Died: June 27, 2008
Leon Wallace "Pete" Tullock, 77, of Greeneville, died late Friday afternoon at Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville.
His family stated, "He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."
Mr. Tullock worked for the Sam Moore chair factory for many years until he opened his own business, Tullock's Upholstery. Later, he was employed by Meco Corp.
He was the widower of Dorothy Aleen Hensley Tullock, who died Feb. 22, 2003.
Survivors include one daughter: Janice Farmer of the home; one sister and her husband: Helen and Hobart Gaddis of Afton; a special nephew: Marlyn Ragsdale of Afton; four sisters-in-law: Elsie Hensley of Tusculum, Daisy Hensley of the Greystone community, and Grace Graham and June Tullock, both of Greeneville; four brothers-in-law and their spouses: Stacy and Linda Hensley, Dale and Imogene Hensley, Johnny and Jean Devoti, and Floyd Watts Sr., all of Tusculum; his special friends; John and Mollie Manuel, Ira Bowman, Pat Garber, Dale and Mary Seaton, Vicki Harmon Daugherty, Kenney Kilday, Jimmie Davis, Keith and Helen Knuckles, Isaiah Taylor; and a number of other family and friends.
He had special pets that he referred to as his grandchildren: "Jordan-Faith," "Samantha," "Jasmine," "Bear," "Dakota," "Jayden-Aleen," and a special rabbit "Bunny."
He was preceded in death by his parents: Martha (Britton) and Frank "Papa" Tullock; three sisters: Minnie Ellenburg, Madge Babb, and Sylvia Ragsdale; four brothers: Robert "Bobby" Tullock, Talmadge Tullock, Harold "Clack" Tullock, and Roy Tullock.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jonathan McGuire and the Rev. George Davis will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cross Anchor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be the congregations of Mosheim Church of God, Hill Street Church of God, and Friendship Baptist Church, the staff of Takoma Regional Hospital, his nurses at Signature HealthCARE, Dr. Cerrezi, and Dr. Richard Aasheim.
The family has requested that donations be made to Rose Hill Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
