Welda Bennett

SALISBURY, Md. -- Welda Bennett, 88, of Salisbury, died Saturday at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Washington County, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Maggie (Tipton) Freeman.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
Her family noted, "She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother."
She was the widow of Charles Bennett.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Norma Jean and Richard Hepner; a son: Michael Bennett; her grandchildren: Doug Miller, Michael Bennett Jr. and Stephen Bennett; and three sisters: Betty Masters, Lelia Clawson, and Beulah Phillips, all of Washington County.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Blaine Arthur Freeman and Ed Freeman.
The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. today at Zion UM Church.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 1 o'clock at the church. Interment will be in Jerusalem UM Church Cemetery in Parsonsburg.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Zion UM Church, 31104 Zion Road, Salisbury, MD 21801.
