In perfect timing during School Board Appreciation Week, the Tennessee School Board Association (TSBA) on Thursday named the Greene County Board of Education as a "Board of Distinction."

Board members include Chairman Roger Jones, Vice-chair Nathan Brown, Kathy Austin, Kathy Crawford, Rex Hopson, David Johnson and Claude Weems, Jr.

Northeast District Director Debbie Shedden, of the Hawkins County Board of Education, announced the honor at the board's monthly meeting and presented a large plaque in recognition of the accomplishment.
