GMS Wins League Games; Blazers Top Camp Creek

Greeneville Middle School opened their conference season in fine fashion Tuesday with a pair of wins at Meadow View in Morristown.

The GMS girls won 54-35 as Madison Shipley torched the nets for 21 points. Lauren Blaylock had 12 for Meadow View.

The home team led after one quarter by an 8-6 margin, but Greeneville got the offense going in the second and pulled ahead by a 20-11 margin and never looked back.

The GMS boys posted a 69-24 victory as Trevor Wright scored 17, Hays Culbreth 14 and Nick Wright 11. A.J. Newman scored seven for Meadow View.

GMS scored 28 points in the second quarter to jump from a 12-5 first quarter lead to a 40-11 halftime spread.

BLAZERS WIN TWO

Nolachuckey won a pair of games over homestanding Camp Creek in Monday night action.

The Lady Blazers took a 43-16 win as Alora Ricker scored 14 and Taylor Coakley 10. Jaelyn Shoemaker had six points to pace Camp Creek.

Nolachuckey posted a 35-11 victory in boys' action. Cody Robinson and Hunter Shipley each scored six points for the Blazers. Damian Ryckaert with four points led Camp Creek.

Nolachuckey (43): Renner 4, Williams 9, Taylor Coakley 10, Alora Ricker 14, Lunsford 6.

Camp Creek (16): Upton 1, Smith 5, Jaelyn Shoemaker 6, Solomon 4.
