GMS Settles For 4th In Tourney

MORRISTOWN -- Greeneville Middle School's boys had to settle for fourth place in the Middle-8 Conference Basketball Tournament after dropping a 45-40 decision to East Ridge Monday night.

The Greene Devils led 24-21 at intermission but could not hold the advantage. They managed only three points in the third quarter and fell behind 30-27, and East Ridge also won the fourth period to extend the lead.

Raheem Wilburn scored 12 and Cole Wolfenbarger 10 for East Ridge. Hayes Culbreth led the Devils with 14 points and Nick Wright chipped in with eight.

The Greene Devils will play in the Bulls Gap Tournament this weekend.

East Ridge (45): Raheem Wilburn 12, Cole Wolfenbarger 10, Smith 8, Williams 6, Brewer 2, Singleton 7.

Greeneville (40): Hayes Culbreth 14, N.Wright 8, Finchum 7, Miller 6, Blair 2. T.Wright 3.
