C-DMS, Ottway Take Wins

Chuckey-Doak Middle School and Ottway Elementary won basketball doubleheaders in Tuesday night action.

Chuckey-Doak beat neighboring Grand View, while Ottway took down visiting Towering Oaks.

KNIGHTS TAKE PAIR

The Chuckey-Doak girls and boys had no trouble in taking wins over Grand View.

The C-DMS girls won 33-6 as Katie Lawson scored eight and Tori Hopson and Cori Haynes six points each.

The Black Knight boys also had an easy time in a 39-10 victory. Jared Meredith led the way with nine points.

In B-team action, the Lady Knights won 40-22 as Kendra Quillen scored eight points. The C-D boys also won by a 29-22 margin as Seth Riddle scored 13 points.

Girls

Grand View (6): Whitaker 3, Gray 2, Clark 1.

Chuckey-Doak (33): Bishop 2, Taylor 5, Hopson 6, Haynes 6, Katie Lawson 8, Sane 2, Arnold 4.

OTTWAY WINS TWIN-BILL

The Ottway teams won over visiting Towering Oaks, with the girls getting it started by taking a 24-13 victory.

McKenzie Reynolds paced the scoring for the Lady Eagles with six points. Lexi Runion had eight points for Towering Oaks.

Ottway's boys led 16-10 at halftime and went on to a 30-23 victory. Austin Collins scored 13 for Ottway. Matthew Collins netted 13 for Towering Oaks.

Girls

Towering Oaks (13): Lexi Runion 8, Shelton 3, Williams 2.

Ottway (24): Palmer 5, McKenzie Reynolds 6, Nelson 5, Foster 4, Neldon 4.
