A Greeneville woman was injured Wednesday afternoon when she was bitten by a dog at a Carson Street residence she was visiting, according to the Greeneville Police Department.

A report filed by GPD Capt. Teddy Lawing identified the victim as Judith L. Spradlin, 64, of 880 St. James Rd.

Spradlin was approaching the porch at 818 Carson St. at 3:50 p.m. when she was bitten numerous times by a female pit bull/boxer mix owned by Donald Totman, the report said.

Spradlin was bitten on the right arm, right lower leg, left thigh and the right buttock, according to the report.

She was transported to Takoma Regional Hospital for treatment of her wounds, according to the report.

Totman showed police and Greene County Animal Control officer Eddie Key proof of vaccinations for the dog, the report said.

Totman was advised to keep the dog in the house for 10 days or, if outside, have it on a chain and attended by an adult, according to the report.
