A Greene County woman was injured about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, when the 2000 Honda Civic she was driving on the Newport Highway struck the rear of a car traveling in a funeral procession.

A report filed by Deputy Sheriff Jason Taylor said Ashley Svette, 23, of Susong Memorial Road, was taken by a Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Takoma Regional Hospital after the car she was driving struck the rear of a 1995 Honda Accord driven by Robin Isley, 43, of Friendship Road North.

The report said the car being driven by Isley was part of a funeral procession and was waiting to turn onto Warrensburg Road at the time of the collision.

After being hit from behind by Svette's vehicle, Isley's car struck the rear of a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Steve Brown, of Rocky Point Road, Midway.

Isley and Brown escaped injury in the three-vehicle collision, according to Deputy Taylor's report.
