She's Found Asleep

At Bank Drive-Thru

With Cash, Pills

From 'Pain Clinic'

A Greene County woman was charged by Tusculum police with possessing drugs for resale following a Monday incident in which she was found unconscious in the driver's seat of a rental car in the drive-through line of a branch bank on the East Andrew Johnson Highway.

Connie Poore, of 1220 Old Snapps Ferry Road, was charged after TPD Officer Dustin Jeffers found her slumped over the wheel of her vehicle in the drive-through line at GreenBank on East Andrew Johnson Highway, according to an arrest warrant.

After she was awakened, Poore allegedly told Officer Jeffers that she was tired from a return trip from Florida, the arrest warrant said.

Upon search of her vehicle, the warrant said, a safe was located inside the vehicle and was found to contain several plastic bags and three bottles of pills with labels that indicated the medication was from a Florida "pain clinic."

Also found in the safe was a notebook, which appeared to be "a drug ledger," according to the arrest warrant.

The notebook and $2,550 in cash that Poore had in her possession were seized by police, according to the arrest warrant.

Poore was charged with possession (of drugs) for resale and taken to the Greene County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear today in General Sessions Court.
