Tri-Cities Regional Airport will host the Collings Foundation's "Wings of Freedom" living history exhibit at Tri-City Aviation, on Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 2-4.
The Collings Foundation is a non-profit educational foundation that provides tours and flights on historic WWII aircraft.
As part of its nationwide "Wings of Freedom" tour, the Collings Foundation will bring in a B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and the P-51 Mustang for display at Tri-City Aviation for three days.
The B-17 that will be shown is one of only nine such aircraft in flying condition in the United States.
The B-24J and P-51C Mustang are the sole remaining examples of their type flying in the world.
The Wings of Freedom tour will arrive at Tri-City Aviation Monday, Nov, 2 at 2 p.m. and be on display at the General Aviation ramp until noon on Wednesday, Nov. 4. Ground tours and display hours are:
* Monday, Nov. 2, 2 to 5 p.m.;
* Tuesday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
* Wednesday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to noon;
Thirty-minute flights normally are scheduled before and after the ground tour times.
The Collings Foundation asks for a $12 donation from adults and a $6 donation from children under 12 for up-close viewing and cockpit tours.
Thirty-minute flights are available on the B-17 and B-24 for $425 per person. Thirty and 60 minute flights are also available on the P-51.

In addition to the vintage aircraft, there will be other aviation exhibits available to the public on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Advanced Flight Training will showcase their aircraft and have a booth and Wings Air Rescue will display a medical helicopter.
In addition, the Civil Air Patrol will have a Cessna G1000 (glass cockpit) plane on display and area ROTC organizations, Morristown Air Service, Edwards & Associates; the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and pilot Glen Harr will display his Sky Bolt aerobatic plane.
Also, Evelyn Johnson, the Guinness World Record Holder for having the most flight hours of any living pilot, will make a special appearance at the event. She also will be honored and recognized for her 100th Birthday on Nov. 4.
