To Receive Vaccine;
Other Schools As It
Becomes Available

H1N1 "swine" flu vaccination clinics will begin Monday for students and staff in the Greene County school system.
Vaccination clinics have been scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at eight schools in northern Greene County.
According to Beth Rader, media spokesperson for the Northeast Tennessee Regional Health Office, H1N1 flu vaccination clinics will be scheduled at the rest of the Greene County schools "as soon as more vaccine arrives."
The H1N1 flu vaccines are free and will be administered by personnel from the Greene County Health Department.
Only those students who returned to their school a consent form signed by a parent or guardian will be allowed to receive the flu vaccine. The forms were sent home by the school system earlier this month.
"If your child has not returned their form, they should do so by their school's clinic date," said Suzanne Price, RN, system nurse for the Greene School Schools.
VACCINATION TIMES
On Monday, Nov. 16, H1N1 flu vaccinations will be administered at:
* North Greene High School, from 8 to 10 a.m.;
* West Pines Elementary School, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.;
* Baileyton Elementary School, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., and,
* Ottway Elementary School, from 1:20 to 2:15 p.m.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, the vaccines will be administered at:
* Chuckey-Doak High School, from 8 to 10:30 a.m.;
* Chuckey-Doak Middle School, from 8 to 10:30 a.m.;
* Chuckey Elementary School, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and
* Doak Elementary School, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The vaccines will be administered via guidelines set by the Greene County Health Department.
The H1N1 FluMist nasal vaccine will be administered to most students, health officials say. However, children with certain chronic health conditions, who do not qualify for the nasal vaccine, will be given the flu vaccine injection.
