Noah Roark has been named to lead the Individual Gifts Division of the 2010 United Way campaign, Brenda Parrish-Dickmann, the campaign's chairman, has announced.
In that capacity, Roark has accepted the challenge of raising funds to serve more than 27,000 Greene County residents through the 24 agencies and programs funded by United Way of Greene County.
Parrish-Dickmann said, "We are very happy to have Noah as Individual Gifts Division Chair. Noah has been an active community volunteer for a number of years and has always been willing to get involved when needed.
"He and his fellow employees at Laughlin Memorial Hospital have conducted excellent United Way campaigns for years and his inspirational leadership will help us serve thousands of Greene County residents."
Roark, director of human resources at Laughlin Memorial Hospital, is a military veteran who has volunteered for his country and in a variety of community organizations.
He serves as major in the Tennessee State Guard. Roark also is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Greeneville and the Boys & Girls Club of Greeneville & Greene County.
He is an adjunct faculty member of Walters State Community College and attends Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an elder.
"Over the years I have seen the benefits our community receives from United Way," Roark said."Thanks to hundreds of people who volunteer their time to help raise needed funding, United Way is able to assist our community year after year. I am honored to be a part of United Way."
Roark and his wife, Shelley, have a son, Adam; two daughters, Kaara and Riann; and a son-in-law, Riann's husband, David Burroughs. The Roarks are enjoying spending time with their first grandchild, three-year-old Lincoln Noah Burroughs.
