A "Patriotic Extravaganza for America's Promise," a fundraising event for the Greeneville Volunteer Center, will be held at 7 p.m. this Thursday in the auditorium of Hal Henard Elementary School.

The event is being sponsored by the Greeneville Adventist Academy and will focus on Greeneville as a presidential town and the U.S. military's important role in the community.

Young people from the Greeneville High School Jazz Band and the Greeneville Adventist Academy Choir will perform alongside Chris Small, portraying Abraham Lincoln, and Russ and Becky Jeffers of the Grand Ole Opry.

Proceeds from the event will support the Greeneville Volunteer Center and its Community of Promise Program.

Tickets are on sale for $10 per person or $25 per family at the General Morgan Inn, The Greeneville Sun, or by calling 639-2011.

For more information, call the Volunteer Center at 639-9341.
