Adam L. Dearing, 25, of Davy Crockett Mobile Home Park, Chuckey, was charged on Sunday with filing a false report of a robbery.
Dearing told deputies he had been robbed of $300 cash outside an East Andrew Johnson Highway convenience store by three men he didn't know, according to an arrest warrant filed by Deputy Sheriff Kevin Guinn.
After reviewing surveillance video of the parking lot, Deputy Guinn again interviewed Dearing, the warrant said. During that interview, Dearing admitted that he had actually spent the money on lottery tickets.
Bond was set at $10,000. He was scheduled to appear today in General Sessions Court.
