A high wind warning is in effect for Greene County from 1 p.m. until midnight, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds of 25 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph are predicted in the higher elevations and the foothills.
The high winds will increase by this afternoon and last through the evening, the weather service said.
"Winds of this magnitude can cause property damage and power outages," the high wind announcement said. It added, "motorists should use caution."
