Sun Photo by Phil Gentry

Karen Fix, of Conservation Artisans, had the best view of Greeneville on Monday as she worked to clean the eagle's beak atop the Andrew Johnson monument on Monument Hill. Conservation Artisans, under contract with the National Park Service, has been working since last week on the Johnson monument. Meanwhile, at least 1,000 headstones in the cemetery were cleaned by local volunteers during the past weekend in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
