Help Sought For Fire Victim

A benovolence drive has begun for Veronica Compton, of 63 Majestic Lane, who lost her home and all her belongings to a house fire on Sunday.

Compton's log home, off the Asheville Highway near the People's Tabernacle Church, was destroyed in a wind-aided blaze fought by three volunteer fire departments.

Those wishing to help Compton are asked to write a check to "Calvary Chapel Greeneville - Missions" and put "Veronica Compton" on the memo line, then mail it to her church: Calvary Chapel Greeneville, 401 W. Main Street, Greeneville, TN 37743.

A friend said, "Any support for her would be welcome, since she lost everything except her three dogs. Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire. All of the funds collected will go directly to Compton."
