Greeneville Light & Power System customers are receiving a publication titled "Stormwater Pollution Solutions" with their current power bill.

The Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance and Greeneville's government produced the "stormwater cards" as part of the Town's Phase II Stormwater Program.

The purpose of the program is to improve the quality of stormwater runoff generated by the city by accomplishing 25 best management practices (BMPs).

One BMP addressed by the program is that of commercial and residential pollution prevention. The stormwater cards contain information to help meet this goal.

The cards define stormwater runoff and provide tips on how to keep stormwater clean in areas such as lawn care, auto care, pet waste, construction and commercial activities.

Greeneville's government has expressed thanks to the Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance, Greeneville Light & Power System, and the Tennessee Valley Authority for their contributions to the Phase II Stormwater Program.

For more information about stormwater issues, call Brad Peters, town engineer, at 639-7105, or to log a stormwater complaint within the town, call the stormwater management hot line at 639-7117.
