A motorist who lost control on Rheatown Road, left the roadway and hit a utility pole was in "stable" condition this morning at Johnson City Medical Center, a spokesperson said.
Matthew J. Burrell, 46, of 215 Rader Sidetrack, was traveling south on Rheatown Road at 7:05 p.m. when he lost control on a straight stretch of road, according to a report by Greene County Deputy Sheriff Brandon Baskette.
The report said his 2004 Toyota Takoma went off the shoulder on the right side of the road, the driver over-corrected, and left the road on the left side, striking a utility pole.
A blood-alcohol test was taken according to the report.
