Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park will turn into an outdoor movie theatre Friday evening, when the public is welcomed to the free showing of a movie that was a sensation in the 1950s.
Park staff and visitors will gather at 8 p.m. at the Crockett Cabin for an outdoor showing of Walt Disney's "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier," starring Fess Parker. The 1955 film also features Buddy Ebsen in a supporting role.
A screen will be hung and the movie shown against the wall of the Crockett Cabin.
Bring your own refreshments and a lawn chair or blanket as seating will be "on the green" and "under the stars."
In the event of rainy weather, the movie will be shown in Picnic Shelter 3 near the cabin.
