Greeneville police are searching for a razor-blade-wielding man who robbed an Asheville Highway convenience store on Monday evening and a burglar who stole cigarettes from an East Andrew Johnson Highway tobacco outlet.

The clerk on duty at Quick Stop No. 10 at 301 Asheville Highway told police that a man wearing camouflage pants, a green short-sleeved shirt and a camouflage-colored ball cap entered the store about 6:55 p.m. and demanded "all her money."

The suspect, according to the police report, appeared to have a razor blade in one of his hands and wore a shirt that had the number 31 on its back.

After taking an undetermined amount of money from the clerk the suspect fled on foot toward the former Hurdy Gurdy video rental store.

Monday's robbery was at least the third convenience store robbery in Greeneville this year.

TOBACCO OUTLET

Also on Monday night, according to another report, someone smashed the glass from the front door of the OK Tobacco Outlet at 1720 East Andrew Johnson Highway and stole "several cartons of Marlboro cigarettes."

The police report said Officer Jeff Craft responded to a burglar alarm at the OK Tobacco Outlet at 10:50 p.m. Monday and found the glass broken from the front door.

Police searched the business, but found no one inside, according to the report. Missing were "several cartons" of Marlboro cigarettes.
